Get Started

If you're new to DataForge, welcome! This article will walk you through the steps to create your account and workspace, understand the developer experience, and get started with a follow-along example.

Step 1: Sign up for a free trial of DataForge

You can sign up for your free trial on the DataForge website.  You will choose a cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and connect a Databricks workspace to DataForge. Quick start guides are provided during signup to easily set these technologies up if they are not already in place.

After completing the trial signup, DataForge will provision a new workspace for you which can take up to 24 hours.  If you have any questions, submit a request to the DataForge support team.

Step 2: Create a DataForge Help Center account

Sign up for an account on the DataForge Help Center by clicking the "Sign In" link at the top-right of this page and then select the "Sign Up" option that appears on the login page below the reset password option.

After following the prompts to create your account, you will receive an email to verify the new account. Be sure to click the link in the verification email to complete your signup.

A DataForge Help Center account is required to submit requests to our support team.

Step 3: Complete the introduction training

Everything you need to know to get started you can find in the Building in DataForge training.  After you've completed the training, earn your own DataForge Fundamentals Certification

Step 4: Build an end-to-end pipeline

Once your DataForge workspace is ready, we highly recommend you build your first end-to-end pipeline by following along with the data integration example. This guide will contain an article for each step of the process for you to recreate. One of the best ways to learn is to do!

Next Steps

The next step in your journey with DataForge is to start building your pipelines! For assistance with how features and objects work, visit the User Manual Documentation.  Our help center search is a great way to also find resources you may need.
